Covid-19 Policy

Due to Covid-19, our bookings policy has been updated.

If either the guest or Squirrel’s Nest enters a lockdown, Squirrel’s Nest will happily move the guests booking to later in the year. Alternatively, if guests wish to cancel their booking due to them ether contracting Covid-19 or a house hold member does, Squirrel’s Nest cannot process a refund.  We ask that you inform us of any cancellations at your earliest opportunity so that we can try and fill the dates. We heavily advise that you take out holiday insurance which will cover you in the event that you need to cancel.

In addition to this, we have had to reconsider some of our procedures in order to keep our guests, our cleaners and family safe.
We do hope you support us in these decisions.

It is important that you follow any guidelines stipulated by the government and if you are placed into a tier which means that you are unable to travel and stay at Squirrel’s Nest, that you contact us as soon as possible.


Are you due to stay with us?

We want to reassure you that we are doing our very best to help beat the Coronavirus.

We are at an advantage being in the countryside and with all accommodation being a field apart, therefore you are very unlikely to come into contact with any of our other guest.

We will continue to provide a self check in service, you will be given a key code prior to your arrival. Your key will be located in a key box by your Treehouse front door.

As always, we are contactable by phone and if we do need to come to the property for any reason e.g. to test the hot tub, we would always practice social distancing rules and inform you first.

Our cleaners have always cleaned to a very high standard, and we implemented strict procedures to ensure everyone is kept safe.
In order to keep our cleaners protected, they are provided with PPE and hand sanitiser. They have also been given a thorough cleaning schedule which is carried out for each change over and we have a good stock of cleaning products to ensure the Treehouse’s are spotless.
So that our cleaners can deep clean the units between each change over, we have had to alter the check out time. The new check out time will be 10am so please note this down if you plan to stay with us.

On arrival, you will park your car in the designated car park just over the cattle grid. There is hand sanitiser on the gate post and we ask that everyone uses this before handling the wheelbarrows and entering the field.
If you do come into contact with others, please follow Government social distancing recommendations.

In each of the treehouses, we have provided hand sanitiser, anti-viral surface spray and anti-bacterial hand wash for you to use throughout your stay. We hope this is sufficient but, please do ask if you require anything else.

We have removed some of the board games (the awkward ones to clean like Monopoly!) and what is left we rotate between guests.  We have taken the decision to keep the snuggly blankets in each of the units and they will be washed each change over.

We gratefully ask that guests strip the beds and put all linen and towels into the laundry bag provided prior to check out. We feel that this eliminates risk and further protects our cleaners.

It’s really important that if you are staying at Squirrel’s Nest and develop any COVID-19 related symptoms, you contact us straight away.
